Dr Joanne MacLeod is a Clinical Psychologist. She provides one to one therapy sessions for a wide range of difficulties. She has many years experience working in the NHS and in private practice with adults and young people who have complex difficulties including difficulties managing emotions, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, obsessive compulsive disorder and trauma. She uses a variety of therapy modes and will often integrate them in a way to best suit her clients needs.
These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness. She may also integrate aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy in her work.
Dr MacLeod sees clients on Mondays and Thursdays. She offers appointments at our Stirling clinic and online.
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology: University of Edinburgh (2009-2012)
- MA Hons Psychology (2:1 Upper): The University of Aberdeen (2003-2007)
Adults with mild to moderate as well as more complex difficulties
- Dr MacLeod has worked in NHS Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) for the last 14 years and so is very experienced in helping those with complex difficulties

- Depression
- Anxiety
- Difficulties with managing emotions
- Low self-esteem/ problems with guilt and shame
- Teaching/Training other mental health professionals
