Starting treatment and attending for the first time can be daunting. Choosing which therapy is most appropriate for you and most likley to be effective can be difficult, especially if you aren't sure what is available ro what these therapies are. Sometimes our clients have a good idea what therapy they would like before we meet them but often people just know they want 'help'. Choosing a therapy should be a joint-decision with your therapist. Your therapist can use their professional experience and training along with UK best practice guidlines to create a treatment plan with you. Sometimes this might involve working with just one type of therapy but it can also involve working with several therapies or aspects of different therapies in an 'integrative' way as your treatment should be individually tailored to you as a unique person so that it is most likley to be effective.
